Hello,
I understand you had some questions about the temperament of puppies from Dakota from Goldendoodle Acres. We purchased our puppy "Griz" from Janece in October 2009. He is absolutley wonderful! He is an F1b Goldendoodle from Lucy and Dakota. He is our first family pet and has been an absolute joy!
He is very smart, was easy to train, and has the best temperament. He slept through the night in his kennel on the fourth night we had him and has stayed that way ever since. He was housebroken in a few weeks and is now bell trained to go outside. He is very mellow around visitors but LOVES people and would spend every minute being your buddy if you let him. Nevertheless, we are gone part of the weekdays and he goes right in his kennel to the word "kennel", does not whine, and has never had an accident in it.
He is very people-oriented and will sit at your feet if you are busy but is
ready to play at a moment's notice. He loves to be outside and our
neighbors always remark about how good he is at entertaining himself (he
will chase ice chunks, bark chips etc. all by himself) or he would play
fetch forever if you are willing.
He has been in excellent health and has had no problems at the vet. He
loves other dogs although they don't always share his enthusiasm!
We had an excellent experience with Janece - she picked just the right dog for our family. He has won our hearts, even those of my "dog-hating" husband (who loves Griz best now!) and my college-age son who got to know Griz over the holidays.
I have attached a few photos of Griz at various ages - I hope you enjoy them and I hope you find the right pet for your family!
Sincerely,
Amy Riesterer
WE COULD NOT LOVE THIS PUP ANY MORE THAN WE DO.....SHE IS WONDERFUL.....She slept through the night, in our bed, with the exception of a kiss on my cheek at 1:30....then she snuggled right up again and went back to sleep! Did not get up to go potty!!!! Then she got up and scratched at the patio door and went outside and pooped and peed! She goes to the back patio door to go out and squats right down and tinkles!!! SHE IS AMAZING!!!
I will send some pictures later.

Janece,
We have been meaning to send this for quite a while. We just wanted to send you a few recent pictures of Juneau, and let you know what a wonderful dog she is – and how happy we are to have her as a member of our family. She will turn 2 in October (Cinnamon and Gromit, I believe were her parents). She’s been an absolute joy since the moment we brought her home with us. She is smart, learns very quickly, loves to play (especially with other dogs) and is such a loyal and loving little soul. It’s hard to imagine what life would be like without her.
Whenever anyone asks us where we got Juneau – we recommend Golden Doodle acres without hesitation.
Thanks again,
Jen & Andy Irwin
CHARLIE

Hi Janece,
Charlie got neutered three weeks ago and I am mailing his confirmation paper to you tomorrow. Just thought I'd give you a heads up. Also, wanted to e-mail you some pictures of him. We think he is the cutest puppy! He got his haircut last Thursday so I've included one pre and post cut:) He has been the best dog. He is laying at my feet as I type this e-mail. We have enjoyed every minute with him!
Have fun looking at the pictues!
Heather

TESS
Hi Janece,
First of all, those chubby little boys you had on your available puppies page were very hard to resist! My husband would have had quite a surprise if Megan and I had jumped in the car to come and get one like we wanted to! Oh my goodness they were cute!
Anyway, I just had to email again and tell you how much we are loving life with Tess. At 9 weeks she knew "sit", "down" and "shake". At only 13 weeks, she was consistently ringing her bells to let us know she had to go outside! She had a bladder infection that began at 10 weeks and was a tough one to clear up, but even after that whole ordeal, she never, ever had another accident in the house. She is doing fabulous at puppy kindergarten and we are enrolling her in basic obedience next. She "waits" at the door when we open it to go outside until we tell her "ok", she waits to eat her food out of her bowl until we tell her, she walks really nicely on her leash, and is just an all around joy. She knows the word "cheese" (her favorite treat) and gets REALLY excited and will drop whatever she's doing to pop her head up and pay attention whenever she hears it! She happily comes every time she's called and we just love her pieces. We are contantly amazed at how easy she is to train and how eager she is to learn good manners. She must have a lot of her mama in her.
So here are a few pics for you and our continued gratitude for producing such a great line of animals!
Hope your summer is going great,
Angie Reetz

Hi Janece,
Please forgive us for not writing sooner. We wanted to send our hellos and let you know we absolutely love our Sidney. Attached is a recent photo of Sidney up in the tree-fort with her buddy and big brother Davis.
Hope you and your family are doing well. Kind regards, Ragan Cheney
Hi Janece!
I'm writing to give you an update about Breeze who was born on 4/4/09, and is the daughter of Sophia and Dakota. I have attached a scan copy of her spay certificate, and some recent pictures.
Breeze is perfect! She is the most wonderful dog and we are so happy to have her. She roams our 52 acre farm with us and swims in our creek almost every day. She is very smart and always comes when we whistle or call. She is in her second puppy class and everyone loves her. She is a very sweet and gentle dog so she is often paired with puppies that don't like to be pressured. I get so many compliments on her disposition and manners. She really is special. She also goes to a doggy daycare when we are at work and she is a favorite with both the dogs and the keepers.
As you can see she really favors her mother, yet her coat sheds very little. We think she is the most beautiful goldendoodle ever and love the fact that she looks so much like a golden!
I hope everything is well with you and your family. Thank you so much for breeding such wonderful dogs!
Sincerely,
Cathy Michael

"A very recent photo of Neenah (acting as a pillow for our younger son) is attached. Her parents are Ginger & Gromit.
She's about 32 pounds and lanky at (now) 9 months of age. She is just the sweetest dog. Our 9 year old routinely asks, "Do you think there's any dog as good as Neenah in the world?"
Happy Holidays!
Best,
Marguerite
Barley
Janece:
I have to tell you how much we love our little Barley. He has the nicest personality and is just a gem! We laugh at him constantly because he is such a curious puppy. Every time we get ice for a drink, he sits by the freezer and waits for a cube. Did you give him ice cubes? He loves to chase them around the kitchen. He's doing just great with house training. No problems at all and he likes his crate. He settles right down at night and even sleeps through the night. He is getting used to his walks but much prefers sitting at every driveway instead of walking. I know with time he will learn to love his walks. He is a very smart dog (I know you already knew this!), and has been easy to train. Today we are going to work on fetching a ball and bringing it back. He hasn't quite gotten that one yet.
He is such a people lover and is comfortable when a lot of people are around. He plays great with the other neighborhood kids. I can't thank you enough for our new addition! Please keep in mind that we would love to be a guardian to one of your dogs someday. If you are ever in De Pere and want to visit, please stop by. Did you end up keeping Barley's brother or is he with a guardian family?
Julie Savolt
PS.....the first picture is of Barley at Lambeau Field. We took Casey to register for Packer tickets and Barley wanted to come. Oh, I forgot to tell you, he loves car rides too.

Attached as well are two photos of Ellie taken recently. She is such an adorable friend, Janece. We are so happy to have her as part of our family. She is one of the most social, sweet dogs we have ever been around. She is definitely my buddy and I don’t know what I would do without her.
Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season.
Regards, Mary

I just wanted to touch base with you and let you know what a wonderful dog Sarge is. I have enclosed some pictures for you to take a look at. Before and after his first hair cut. My family and I could not have asked for a better addition to our family. Sarge has jumped right in and stolen all of our hearts!! He just loves to run when we are outside or just hanging out in the house. He has made under the table his home when none of the kids are around otherwise he has to be with the kids. One thing I am amazed with is the fact he hardly ever barks. The only time he barks is when he sees someone in the driveway which is great. I can't believe what a great dog he is and can't Thank You enough for letting him become part of my family. Kristy, my wife, is looking at another one from you - stay tuned.
Again Thank You and I tell everyone if they want an awsome dog to get in touch with you and your family.
Thanks again!!!

Hi Janece,
I feel horrible I haven't sent you any pictures of Bogey! We got Bogey March of 07', we absolutely love him!! He has the best personality we could have asked for. He is a hit in our neighborhood (sometimes referred to as Tigger because he almost bounces around), one of our neighbors lost there dog last Oct and now are like surrogate parents to Bogey when we are out of town or working late. The picture is actually taken at there house he was too hot so he went down the row of plants and smashed them to cool off. He is about 60 lbs and extremely athletic and loves to walk and run at a near by field and absolutely loves to go by the lake he will fetch for hours if I let him.
So just wanted to drop a note and say we adore Bogey and can't imagine life without him. We will definitely come back to you for another puppy someday.
Take Care,
Shannon
Hi Janece!
It’s been a hectic weekend, and I finally have a chance to sit and write you a quick note about our “Rusty”.
He is amazing!
Friday night he had me up a few times, Saturday night I got up once, and Sunday was a full night’s sleep!
He’s doing great. Eating well, sleeping well, and following us and hanging out by our feet or in our laps!
He is getting to know what “go potty” means. When I ask him, he looks at me, and heads for the door. Outside I tell him to “go potty”, and he literally looks at me, and goes!!! Just waiting for him to figure out that HE has to tell ME when he needs to go J
I know that will take some time, but we’re so proud of him already. He is very smart!!
He walks so nicely beside us on his leash, (he still doesn’t like his collar much, but getting used to it.) and everyone that sees him says he is adorable!
Some friends of mine, and my boss, got him some “care baskets” with chew toys and treats so he is already one spoiled puppy!
I’ll send some pictures soon, but just wanted to let you know he’s doing great and we love him to death.
Nick just keeps thanking us for getting him. I have Rusty wake him up in the morning with his wet kisses, and he loves it!
Thanks for all of your help throughout this process. You were wonderful and we were very impressed with your property and kennels, and can tell that your dogs are very well taken care of and loved.
We’ll keep in touch!
Loreta, TJ, Nick, and Rusty.

Hi Janece,
Just sending an update on WileyFin. He is such a great puppy!!! We have all fallen in love with his sweet temper and handsome good looks (We get lots of compliments on how gorgeous he is). We have been spending the summer playing ball, swimming in the river and lakes, and snuggling the Feucht Kids (Grayson and Sianna). Enjoy the pictures.

Hi Janece,
We did name our puppy "Simon". He is doing extremely well! He goes to work with me on the days I have to report in. Everybody thinks he is adorable!! He minds so well for a 9 week old pup. Potty training is going great, he's almost got it down. Crate training is doing better, at first it was difficult. He sleeps until about 5:30 AM now instead of getting up at 3:00 AM. So all is well. Both my husband and I love him alot already. His intelligence and sweetness makes him a perfect companion.
Thanks for your hard work, it shows in Simon's countenance.

Hi Janece, just wanted to give you a update on Mulligan. He is doing great. He is 65 pounds, and full of energy. We have him going to doggie daycare twice a week. Mulligan was recently called in to do a commercial for his daycare and grooming place called Animal House. My wife keeps saying "A star is born."
Take Care,

Hi Janece ~
Just thought I'd let you know that Scout is doing good. I love him to pieces. We decided to hire a Dog Walker to run off some puppy energy mid-day while I am at work. She took these pictures to let me know my baby loves his outings. He loves to meet new people and everyone adores him. He is excelling in his puppy training classes - always the first to catch on !!

Thank you sooo much!
Julie Bayer

Hi Janece and family!!
I've been wanting to write you a note for a while, but having two dogs and three kids makes for a very busy life around here!! I just had to tell you how wonderful Porter is doing - what a beautiful dog he is!!! The kids ADORE him and he is so great with our older Lhasa Apso - I think he has brought part of her spunk back!!! He is keeping us busy, but I have to say that I am amazed at how well his training is going. I can't thank you enough for all of the love and exposure you gave to him - he is so calm!!! I was expecting a rough couple of weeks since we decided to crate train him - but he has done really well!! I even have him ringing the bell to go outside - what a smart dog we have!!!! My youngest daughter had really bonded with him - do you remember how afraid she was of dogs? Well now, she uses a sweet "momma" voice with him and loves to give him his treats. I'm so excited that we will have such a great dog for the kids to grow up with.

I tell everyone that we meet where we got our beautiful dog and rave about how wonderful a breeder you are and how immaculate your home is....how do you do it??? When I tell people what kind of dog he is - they are intrigued - and they can believe how soft he is - so far no shedding!!!!! Each day he seems to get a little more wavy - I thought I'd send you a couple of pictures - he is growing so fast!!
Thank you so much for the wonderful experience - I probably won "the most question award" when we were waiting to get our Porter, but you were always gracious and so kind to us. Be well, and say hi to your family from us!!
Karen Mayer and family
Dear Janece,
My wife and my daughter and I cannot thank you enough for the
wonderful experience you gave us in acquiring our new puppy. From when I first spoke to you about your puppies to the day that we picked up our little bundle of joy, I was impressed with your professionalism and your attention to detail. We loved the weekly updates and photos that we received, and your suggestions as to what to get ahead of time and what to bring when we finally picked her up was great!
When we got to meet you and your family, as well as Sophie, Chloe and Caesar, we could see the love that you have for your dogs. It made us feel wonderful seeing how your family made the puppies part of your family and not a business. It also was reassuring to meet the parents and see what mellow, gentle and well behaved dogs they were.
We have had our little "Buszi" for three weeks now and she is a pure joy. Being brought up with your family, she adapted to being with us immediately. Again, we cannot thank you enough and we have already recommended you to some friends who have met "Buszi" and are seeing for the first time what fantastic dogs Golden Doodles are. We will send you some photos soon.
Best regards,
Dr. Tom and Marcia Marciniak

Hi Janece - Just a quick note to say hello -- I hear that we will be welcoming one of Lucky's cousin's to Cottage Grove this fall! Our new neighbors across the street told me today that they're on the waiting list for one of your puppies! That is such great news! They saw me out with Lucky earlier this week and asked me where we got him. They said they'd been checking the newspaper ads for Golden Doodles. I'm so glad they decided to get one from you instead. They seem really excited about it!
I have to tell you that the woman from Dog's Best Friend training, who was out here to help us train on the invisible fence, said that she thinks Lucky is the nicest Golden Doodle she has ever met! She just loves him and she said "Betsy, you don't find dogs any nicer than this one. He is a wonderful dog for your family!" When I commented that we never thought we'd pay so much for a dog, she said "Dogs are like cars, you get what you pay for." After living with Lucky for 7 months, I'd have to say that we agree -- he is worth every penny!
Attached are recent photos. He pulled out a dew claw at the dog park a few weeks ago, so we had him to the vet for some antibiotics. He was 57 lbs. I saw the photos of his sister, Lucy, on your website. I can't believe how much they look alike! She is a beautiful girl!!!! And of course, we think Lucky is a handsome boy! Tell Nikayla that he still likes to sit in my lap and get his love. Michael had to fill out a quiz about me for Mother's Day at school and he wrote that in my spare time I snuggle with the dog! :)
Hope all is well with you and we hope to see you this summer at the Doodle Romp! Take care, Betsy
We recently visited GoldenDoodle Acres to pick out a new puppy for our family. (We can't wait to bring him home in a few more weeks!) Simply put, our experience could not have been improved in any way.
We found Janece Schommer to be friendly, knowledgeable and
professional in every respect. She spent significant time with us, both in person and on the phone, and showed genuine interest in finding out exactly what we were looking for. During the process, she made all of us (my wife and two daughters, aged 9 and 6) feel as comfortable and welcome as we would feel in our own home.
While we were there we had ample time to view and handle the new litter and spend time with both parents, Chloe and Caesar. Chloe reminded us of our prior pet, a wonderful Golden Retriever, who had been a loving and gentle part of our family for the past 10 years. Chloe was completely at ease as we entered the run and sat down to pick up and cuddle with various members of her litter. (They were just a few days old at the time, eyes not even opened yet.) Given the fact that they were so young and she had just been nursing them, we were quite surprised that she would allow us to do this. When we were done with our visit, she even jumped in our van as the kids were getting in to go home. There is no question that this dog possesses a wonderful temperament.
Caesar, the father, was equally impressive. I have never have been a fan of the poodle breed, but I must say that he changed my perception in a most favorable way. He was gentle with our family and listened well to his owner. He played a lot with the other pups and brought order to the activity when he sensed it was getting too rough. (Perhaps I should inquire about bringing him home to watch over our daughters when they play sometimes?) As we were leaving, he too gave us a royal send off, walking up to the drivers side door and calmly standing up on the car door so I could pet him once more before we departed.
The experience of meeting the parents alone would have erased any doubt in our minds about the likely temperament that the puppies in this litter would possess. Yet if that were not enough, Janece went beyond that and arranged to have two puppies from her previous litter on site so that we could spend time with them as well. Our playtime with these "cousins" was equally enjoyable and without incident.
The facility was spotless and it was abundantly evident that her and her family members are all involved with the animals and care very deeply for them.
Additionally, she has kept us up to date by emailing current pictures to us and has made time in her schedule so that we can come visit again before it's time to bring our new family member home for good.
I would give GoldenDoodle Acres my highest recommendation for inclusion as a GoldenDoodles.com approved breeder.
If I can provide any other information about our experience or our observations, please do not hesitate to contact me. Have a great day and God Bless.
Sincerely,
Jeff Torres

Hi! Hope everyone is doing well! I see that Sophie and Chloe are going to be moms again - I have no doubt that you will get some more great puppies!
We wanted to send you an update on Oscar and Felix - we LOVE them!!!!!! I can't imagine that we even considered taking only one! We've attached pictures ... Oscar has on the blue collar and, as you can tell by his puffed-out chest, he is one puppy who is very self-confident! He takes on everyone and everything (although tail is always wagging and when confronted back he usually duck behind my legs or his brother!). Felix is a bit bigger and has a more shaggy coat. He is gentle, but he easily engages in active play with his brother and/or us and the kids. Don't be fooled, though, he has his moments! The two of them look like bear cubs when playing!
We are having a ball! They are very much a part of our family, snuggling with us on the couches for movie night, coloring easter eggs, running through our orchard up north (they loved that - some great pictures!) and they've already had their first birthday celebration - my youngest just had his 8th birthday party here and they were a big hit!
We are all starting puppy kindergarten in a few weeks. Potty training is going very well, they sleep through the night (since the 2nd night ...) and are learning a few commands: sit; down; etc. People are wondering where we got them from and we are recommending you to them - we couldn't be happier with our boys!
Thanks, and we'll keep sending updates every now and then!!

OLIVER
Hello Janice -
We got a male goldendoodle F1B puppy from you last year - I think the parents were Cinnamon and Gromet? My wife's name is Anna Huttenlocher - the sale was in her name. Maybe you are not breeding with Gromet anymore, but we thought we would send a report and some pictures. It has all been fantastic. We named him Oliver and he is just great. You may recall that he lives with (and has been mentored by!) our 10 year old 55lb. female standard poodle Kirby. Oliver is 65+ pounds, maybe up toward 70 now, very strong and sturdy but not bulky. He is ultra-fast (quick) to a ball - very strong retriever instinct - loves to run (he is often off-leash outside). He is super-kind and gentle when he calms down (which he can do pretty quickly if we ask him to) - likes to cuddle against our leg or foot sometimes when resting - lies and even sleeps on his back occasionally (crazy). He loves to wrestle and play-fight with his mentor (who is the boss), likes to challenge her and try to win (which he always could if he wanted) but in wrestling he always backs off so that it stays as an even match.
Anyway, I attach a few pictures at lower resolution, and one at higher resolution; if you want any of them at high resolution just ask.
Thank you for doing a great job of what you guys do - I was a bit nervous at having you (rather than us) pick our puppy, but it makes sense because you know them much better than someone who shows up for an hour, and you asked us what we wanted in some detail and gave us exactly that and it has worked out beautifully.
- Andrew and Anna

Janece,
Just thought we would send you some pictures of Roscoe. You may use us as a reference anytime. Use these pictures as you wish.

Janece!
Hi! Oh man...we are having a blast with Langdon! My parents were so suprised ... I thought they were going to kill me, turns out they loved him and my mom started crying! Langdon ended up sleeping with them that night and have ever since. We all fell in love with him instantly ... even Madison (our airedale) loves him and they play together non-stop!! He was kind of afraid of her at first (she can be pretty wild and rambunctious), but now he hides in the grass and pounces on her ... Langdon gets Maddie everytime with his sneak attack! He really is so loving ... my parents love having a dog they can cuddle and pet all the time. He retrieves now, too! I'll havta send you some pictures very soon..and expect a letter from my mom shortly, too! Thank you for everything! You guys really are so wonderful!
Sincerely, Erin

The puppies are just great, and we are enjoying them so much! They weren't real cooperative for Kelly last night with the camera, but as we get some more good pictures, we will pass them on. I can't believe how much they've grown in the last month. Hope all is well with you and your family.
Patty
Janece, just a quick note to mention that we LOVE our puppy (Lucy)! She is 100% complete JOY! We all love spending time with her and working with her! She is so smart! She is already learning where to go to go out to go potty and she knows her name already! Such a treat to have her in our family! THANKS SO MUCH for giving us such a sweet puppy!
